Vobile, a U.S.-based provider of digital content protection and monetization services, has completed the acquisition of Pex, a technology company specializing in audio content identification.
The deal strengthens Vobile’s position in the global market for copyright enforcement, particularly within the music industry, where demand for advanced content recognition tools is rising amid rapid growth in user-generated content and AI-generated media.
Pex’s proprietary technology enables precise tracking and attribution of audio content across platforms, offering rights holders a way to monitor usage and manage licensing. The acquisition is expected to enhance Vobile’s existing capabilities across both audio and video formats.
“The integration of Pex allows us to better serve the evolving needs of rights holders, especially as generative AI transforms the creative landscape,” said Yangbin Wang, Chairman and CEO of Vobile.
Founded in the U.S., Pex has worked with music labels, publishers, and digital platforms to identify and license content in real time. Its full team has joined Vobile as part of the acquisition.
Amadea Choplin, COO of Pex, said the merger provides an opportunity to “deliver greater impact at scale” to clients navigating an increasingly complex digital environment.
The acquisition comes as copyright protection becomes a growing focus for the entertainment and tech industries, with companies investing heavily in tools to address rights management in decentralized and AI-driven content ecosystems.
