QBE Singapore has announced the appointment of Ronak Shah (pictured) as its new chief executive officer.

In his new role, Shah will be responsible for QBE Singapore’s operations and will report to Jason Hammond, QBE Asia’s chief executive officer who himself was appointed earlier this year.

In a statement, QBE said that Shah had been instrumental in growing the financial lines portfolio across the Asia-Pacific region and that the appointment is aligned with the company’s focus on building “a more agile and customer-centred organisation for the future.”

“I am confident that with Ronak’s extensive experience and leadership, he will bring a customer-focused approach to growing our business in Singapore and I am really looking forward to working with him in this new role,” said Hammond.

Shah joined QBE as regional head of financial & professional and casualty lines in 2017, after serving in leadership roles at JLT Group, Allied World Assurance Company, Willis Towers Watson, and Marsh. He has extensive experience in risk & insurance broking, underwriting, and consulting in the insurance space.
