The hearing may be postponed for next week, and “it’s very, very important that it do occur”

Due to the state funeral of former President George H.W. Bush, the U.S. House Judiciary Committee is most likely to postpone a hearing with Google Chief Executive Sundar Pichai to next week.

The hearing will mainly discuss Alphabet’s social media practices and the company’s degree of data privacy.

Chairman Bob Goodlatte, said in an interview with Fox News that he expects the hearing to take place next week: “We expect that to occur and it’s very, very important that it do occur,” he added.

Pichai had finally agreed to testify before the Committee in order to discuss Google’s policies and other matters of interest.
