Now in its second year, the Business Worldwide Magazine (BWM) 20 Most Innovative Companies to Watch Awards has attracted even more nominations than last year’s impressive response.
Sectors represented in 2020 included pharmaceuticals, finance and, as expected, Information Technology. But other areas came to the fore too. Biotechnology and healthcare for instance, both put in big appearance, as did renewable energy.
Of course, thanks to Covid and global lock-downs, it hasn’t been an easy year for many sectors. Of those who have managed to work through, many have been digital, hence the large number of e-commerce and IT nominations.
Companies that picked up a 20 Most Innovative Companies to Watch in 2020 Award are, what the judging panel describes as “trailblazing.” This means they’re going out there ahead of the competition by trying something new. This could be in terms of practice, strategy or product.
Scalability was another criteria that impressed the judges. Even if that hadn’t yet been achieved, would it be possible for the firm – or start-up – in question to easily expand at some time in the future? This was a question the panel took very seriously.
Here at BWM we are delighted to note that nominations for the 20 Most Innovative Companies to Watch Awards came from around the globe. We heard about manufacturing in China, software development in India, sustainability initiatives in Scandinavia and unique finance solutions in Europe. North and South America were also amongst the nominations.
You can see our judging panel’s decisions here on this page. We are sure that when reading them, you will be just as impressed as we were and look forward to seeing what further achievements they can all lay claim to.
