Intertek Group plc, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide announces that it has acquired Dansk Institut for Certificering A/S (DIC), a quality assurance and certification company in Denmark.
As one of the leading certification bodies in Denmark, the acquisition of DIC allows Intertek to expand its capabilities and footprint in business assurance in the Nordic region. With DIC’s established network, and expertise in auditing, certification and training for the transportation, energy, steel and metal and engineering sectors, it complements Intertek’s current services in the region.
The company audits and certifies customers’ operations against a wide range of standards from industry standards such as ISO 9001 quality management systems, to audit programmes tailored to customers’ needs, sustainability data verification, and health and safety auditing against local and EU standards.
DIC helps local and international companies in the region to improve and maintain the quality of their operations and supply chain, and meet increasing consumer and regulatory pressure to run their businesses in a safer, healthier, more ethical and environmentally friendly manner. The acquisition positions Intertek as a key provider of systems certification services across the Nordic region. By integrating DIC with Intertek’s existing range of innovative solutions, customers can benefit from a more comprehensive assurance, testing, inspection and certification service solution.
Headquartered in Sjolund, southern Denmark, DIC has 15 employees supported by subcontractors and generated circa DKK16 million of revenue in 2014.
André Lacroix, Chief Executive Officer of Intertek, commented:
“The acquisition of DIC allows Intertek to strengthen our business assurance services in the Nordic region where our customers are seeking a higher level of quality, including health, safety and environmental quality assurance of their operations. DIC is an excellent business with a strong track record of service delivery. We are delighted to welcome the DIC team to Intertek.”
