In its 48th year, the Boston Marriott Newton Hotel announces the completion of an extensive, multi-million dollar interior renovation.
Started nearly a year ago, the large-scale renovation was designed to offer a unique guest experience by blending historic elements with contemporary flair. The Hotel is operated by TPG Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality management affiliate of Procaccianti Companies and owned by Chesapeake Lodging Trust.
“We are thrilled to see this major undertaking come to an end and proud of our new look,” said Christopher Allen, General Manager of the Boston Marriott Newton Hotel. “Our entire team feels passionate and excited to showcase our renovated product to our valued guests.”
The renovation encompasses all 430 guest rooms – including a unique bi-level presidential suite – as well as a fully refurbished lobby, guest corridors, all meeting rooms and a 9,000 square foot Grand Ballroom. The interior design firm, Design Directions International based in Atlanta, led the hotel’s renovation.
The iconic hotel nestled along the banks of the Charles River now incorporates modern sophistication while maintaining much of its original structure and rich history. Preserving the classics of this area was an appropriate way to honor the history of Newton as this area was once an amusement playground called Norumbega Park. Breezy carefree days down by the riverside bring design images to mind. Careful consideration of colors such as blues of river water and tans and copper colors of river banks weave the story of the area. Patterns such as circles and waves bring images of carousels and water activities. Pops of bright colors strategically placed are reminiscent of the fun and fascination of the old park.
The Guest Rooms are a pinnacle of luxury with rich toned wool carpet, fresh white comfortable linen mixed with dark glossy espresso wood furnishings. Touches of history are referenced with a bird caged- like nightstands that pay homage to Norumbega Park. Modern bathrooms are enhanced with a unique frosted barn door and all white granite sink. All rooms and suites come with a 50-inch flat screen TV, an executive workstation, Wi-Fi access, mini-refrigerators, in-room safe and coffee maker. In addition to its deluxe accommodations, the hotel offers a newly-redesigned Concierge Lounge on the 7th floor that caters to the busy business traveler. The Presidential Suite may very well be what sets the hotel apart from its competitors with its bi-level room layout with floor to ceiling windows looking out to the majestic views of the Charles River.
